All labor rules are created on the Labor Rules page. This article covers creating the following labor rules: Overtime, Break, Split, Minor, Tip Makeup Rules, Spread of Hours, Predictability, Reporting Time Pay, Shift Differential, and Pay Periods.
Creating a labor rule establishes its name, its type, and the locations it governs.
A newly created labor rule contains no configuration. Locations assigned to the rule operate without any rule settings until the rule is configured. Configuration is covered in the article for each rule type.

Each labor rule type has a create permission dedicated permission under Labor → Labor Rules.

These permissions can be added to custom user roles or individual users. The Permission Access report can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. For more information, see User Setup and Security.

All labor rules are created on the Labor Rules page:
Select Admin
Expand the Workforce section
Select Labor rules.

Create a Labor Rule
In the grid toolbar, click Create rule. A dropdown lists all accessible rule types.
Select the rule type to create. The creation form opens inline alongside the grid.
Enter a unique name for the rule.
Assign the locations the rule governs.
Click Create. The rule group is created with the name and location assignments entered.

A newly created labor rule contains no configuration.
