Split rules define penalty pay conditions when an employee works shifts that meet specific split shift or clopening criteria. These rules help ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal pay policies by automatically applying penalty earnings when required conditions are met.
Use split rules to:
Apply penalty pay for split shifts worked in the same day.
Apply penalty pay when required rest periods between closing and opening shifts are not met.
Split rules apply to configured locations and calculate penalties during payroll processing.
