The Forecasting page provides detailed weekly and daily views of sales and labor projections. Use this page to review totals, adjust forecasts, and manage events that affect sales performance.

Forecasts help managers plan labor and operations efficiently based on projected demand. Weekly and Daily Forecasting data appear based on the configuration enabled for each location.


Navigation

Navigation Menu

  1. Select Sales & forecasting from the left navigation rail.

  2. Select Forecasting.

The page opens according to the location’s forecasting method.

Search

Navigate to pages with the R365 global search bar:

  1. Enter all or part of the page name in the R365 global search bar.

  2. Select the page from the results list.

Only enabled pages can be searched for. If the desired page is not enabled, contact your CSM for assistance.



Security

Users with the following permission will be able to access the Weekly Forecasting page:

  • Sales & Cash → Forecasts → Weekly Forecasting → View Weekly Forecasting

When access is restricted, an Additional Access Required alert appears. Contact an administrator to request the correct permission.

These permissions can be added to custom user roles or individual users. The Permission Access report can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. For more information, see User Setup and Security.


Forecasting Buttons and Fields

Description

Location

Displays the location associated with the forecast. Click to select another location.

Timestamp

Shows the Autosave timestamp and the name of the user who last made changes.

Settings

Opens the Weekly Forecasting Settings sidesheet.

Action Menu

Contains the following option: Import Forecast

  • Opens the Import Forecast screen to download or upload the import template.

Publish

Publishes the current forecast to make it visible across R365.

  • Publish displays when creating a new forecast.

  • Re-Publish displays after editing an existing forecast.

  • Draft Saved displays when changes are saved but not published.

Projection

Identifies the projection model used to generate the sales forecast.

  • Customized appears when projection dates are manually adjusted.

  • Imported appears when the forecast data was imported.

Metric

Displays the forecast metric used to calculate sales projections (for example, sales or labor).

Edit (Pencil) Icon

Opens the projection model or metric for editing. Recalculates forecast results. Available only to users with the Adjust Sales Forecast permission.


Week View

Weekly Forecasting provides a week-by-week summary of sales and labor projections. Use it to compare forecasted performance with past results, adjust expected sales, and plan labor scheduling.

View Day Button

Opens the Day View for the first day of the displayed week.

Navigation Arrows

Moves forward or backward one week.

Week Selector

Displays the current week range. Use the drop-down menu to select a new week:

  • Current Week - Click to change the displayed week to the current week.

  • Week After Next - Click to navigate to the week two weeks after the current week.

  • Another Work Week - Click to select a week from the calendar picker.

Review Projection Dates

Opens the Review Projection Dates page to view or adjust the historical dates used for calculations. This option is disabled for imported forecasts. When new projection dates are available, the button appears in orange.

Week Total Column

Displays combined totals for all forecast metrics in the selected week. This field is not editable.

Date

Show daily totals for all rows, including weather, sales, and labor data. Weather displays up to 14 days in advance based on the location’s ZIP Code.

Projected Net Sales

Displays total forecasted sales for the day or week based on the selected forecasting metric. If the projection model has insufficient data, the forecast displays zero sales.

Sales Adjustment

Displays manual adjustments applied to the forecasted sales. Sales adjustments are distributed evenly across the location’s operating hours. See Adjusting Forecasts for details

Sales Forecast

Displays calculated forecast totals and comparative data:

  • Last Week: Shows the actual sales and percentage difference from the forecast.

  • Last Year: Shows the actual sales and percentage difference from the same week in the prior year.

Labor Forecast

Displays projected labor hours for the day or week. Labor forecasts appear only if Smart Labor is enabled and a supported Labor Matrix is saved.

Add Events

Adds events that affect the day’s forecast. Click the plus icon to create a new event. This section appears only if Scheduling is enabled.

Event Summary

Displays the count of the events for the week. Hover over or click on the event summary to open a list of events. Click 'View Event' to view or edit event details.

Day Events

Lists events for the selected day. Click an event to view or edit its details. For more details about managing events, see the Events Overview.


Day View

The Day View shows detailed hourly or sub-hourly forecast data for a selected day. Use this view to analyze sales and labor projections within specific time intervals.

Hour / 30-Min / 15-Min Switcher

Switches the displayed time intervals between one-hour, 30-minute, and 15-minute segments.

Dayparts

Displays the defined dayparts for the selected date. See Dayparts Configuration for setup details.

Time Interval Column

Displays forecasted sales and labor totals for each time interval. Click a time segment to change views: - Click a one-hour interval to expand to 30-minute view. - Click a 30-minute interval to expand to 15-minute view. - Click a 15-minute interval to return to hour view.

Use the Day View to identify peak hours, review sales trends, and confirm labor coverage.
