Payroll Hub Overview

Prev Next

New Payroll landing page

Navigate to the Payroll Overview page for the legacy view.

Payroll Hub is the landing screen for running payroll in Restaurant365, shown instead of the Payroll Overview page for organizations on the enabled rollout tier.

The Payroll hub brings together the readiness checks a payroll processor needs before submitting a pay rununpayable employees at every tier, and, at the higher rollout tier, unapproved paid time off (PTO) requests, unapproved Daily Sales Summaries (DSS), unapproved timecards, and unapproved tip distributions — as a set of metric cards showing a count of affected records. A processor sees at a glance what is blocking a pay run and resolves it without leaving the Hub.

Payroll Hub doesn't process approvals itself. It shows a live count of what's outstanding for each check and takes the processor to the same approval screen they'd otherwise use — it doesn't change how PTO, Daily Sales Summaries, timecards, or tip distributions get approved or calculated.

Clicking a readiness card opens a side panel listing the affected records, with either an inline approve or deny action or a route into the full review form — see Resolving Issues From the Hub for a full comparison of the two paths. See the Payroll Hub Page article for the full inventory of buttons, fields, and cards on the screen, and the Historical Pay Runs Page article for the screen that lists a legal entity's past pay runs.

Payroll Hub Pages, Screens, and Records

Payroll Hub

The Payroll Hub page is the main landing screen for running payroll, reached automatically once an organization is on the enabled rollout tier. From the Payroll Hub page:

Historical Pay Runs

The Historical Pay Runs page lists a legal entity's past pay runs. It is reachable only when Payroll Hub is enabled for the organization and the reader has Hub access.

Feature Setup

Two-Layer Enablement

Whether a readiness card appears depends on two independent layers. The first is your organization's rollout tier: at the enabled tier, you have the pay-run card and the Unpayable Employees readiness card; at the higher tier, you additionally have readiness cards for PTO, Daily Sales Summaries, timecards, and tip distributions.

The second layer is whether your organization already has the underlying feature enabled — Accruals for PTO, Timecards, or Tip Automation for tip distributions. Moving to the higher rollout tier never turns on a feature by itself; it only reveals a readiness card for a feature you already have enabled. Two organizations on the same rollout tier can see different sets of cards depending on which of these features each has enabled. See Resolving Issues From the Hub for the full explanation of how these two layers combine.

Per-Feature Dependencies

  • The PTO card depends on Accruals being enabled.

  • The Timecards card depends on the Timecards feature being enabled. Timecards and Daily Sales Summaries are permanently mutually exclusive.

  • The Daily Sales Summaries card depends on the Timecards feature being disabled.

  • The Tip Distributions card depends on Tip Automation being enabled, independent of the Timecards/DSS relationship.

  • The Unpayable Employees card has no additional feature dependency and is available at the base enabled tier.

If an organization expects a readiness card and does not see it, the underlying feature dependency, not Payroll Hub itself, is usually the reason.

FAQ

Why don't I see a readiness card I'm expecting, like PTO or Tip Distributions?

A readiness card only shows up when two things are both true: your organization is on the rollout tier that includes it, and the underlying feature — Accruals for PTO, Timecards, or Tip Automation for tip distributions — is already enabled. Moving to a higher rollout tier never turns a feature on by itself; it only reveals a card for a feature you already have. See Resolving Issues from the Payroll Hub and the Payroll Hub Opt-In for the full breakdown of how the two layers combine.

What makes an employee show up as "unpayable" on the Payroll Hub?

An employee is marked unpayable when required payroll information is missing or invalid — common causes include a missing SSN/TIN, bank account, address, position, pay card, or unemployment rate setup for their work location. Payments for an unpayable employee are excluded from the pay run until the missing information is corrected. See the Unpayable Employees Report article for the full list of reasons and how to resolve each one.

What decides whether resolving an issue gives me an inline approve/deny action or sends me to a full review form?

It depends on the readiness issue itself: some resolve right from the side panel with a simple approve or deny action, while others need more context and route to the full review screen instead. See Resolving Issues from the Payroll Hub and the Payroll Hub Opt-In for a full comparison of the two paths.

Can I still use the legacy Payroll Overview page once my organization has Payroll Hub enabled?

Yes. Payroll Hub replaces the Payroll Overview page as the default landing screen for organizations on the enabled rollout tier, but the legacy view stays reachable. See Payroll Overview (legacy) to navigate there directly.
