During onboarding, Start of business days are created in the Onboarding dashboard. They define when each location’s business day begins. This start time controls how sales, labor and other daily activity are grouped for reporting.
Each location must be assigned to a Start of Business day table to complete the step.
Security
Users must have the following permissions to setup Start of business days:
Administration → Dashboards → View Onboarding Dashboard
Administration → Location Hours → View Location Hours and Day Parts
Administration → Locations → Create/Edit/Delete Location Hours
Setup Start of Business Days
To setup start of business days, follow these steps:

1) From the Home application, select the Onboarding dashboard.

2) Click Get started in the Start of business day step.

3) Enter the name of the Start of business day setting group.
Create a Start of Business day for each unique effective date and start time combination.
Each Start of Business day must be unique.

4) Select all locations the start of business applies to.
Each location must be a assigned to a Start of business day to complete the step.

To clear the location selection, hover over the locations field and click X.

5) Set the Effective date for the Start of business day.
Click in the field to enter a date manually or click the calendar to open the date picker.
Ensure the effective date aligns with the first day of the work week for all selected locations.

6) Set the Start time.
Set the start time to match the POS reset time for the location. This is the point when the POS closes one business day and begins the next, and it determines how sales, labor, and operational data are grouped by date in R365.
The POS reset time may also be referred to as:
End of Day (EOD)
Start of Day
Close-out Day
Z-Reset
Business Day cut-off

7) To add a Start of Business day, click + Start of business day. (Optional)

8) Repeat steps #3-7 until all desired Start of business days are represented in the table.
A location hours record will be created with the Business start of day fields populated for each row in the table.
9) Click Complete and close to finalize the Start of business day step.

Once completed, this step cannot be reopened. View created Start of business days from their associated Location hours settings.
