Start of Business Day Setup

In Beta

This feature is in beta for select customers. Contact your CSM for more information.

The Start of business day setup step on the Onboarding Dashboard defines the start time for each location’s business day. This setting determines when transactions, sales, and labor data begin accumulating for reporting. It works with the Location Hours configuration and the operational year to define workweeks, business days, and labor rules.

Aligning the start of business day with the POS reset time ensures transactions and labor hours are recorded under the correct business day. Misalignment can cause inaccurate daily sales, payroll, and labor reporting.

By default, all locations use Default hours, where each day begins at 12:00 am. Add a new start of business day if a location operates on a different schedule (for example, 4:00 am). Once configured, additional settings become available on the Location Hours page.

Security

Users must have the following permissions to setup Start of business days:

  • Administration → Dashboards → View Onboarding Dashboard

  • Administration → Location Hours → View Location Hours and Day Parts

  • Administration → Locations → Create/Edit/Delete Location Hours

These permissions can be added to custom user roles or individual users. The Permission Access report can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. For more information, see User Setup and Security.
