Adding New Location Tasks

Adding a New Location requires Users to complete setup tasks. Follow this checklist to add a New Location:

POS-Integrated Location Tasks

For Locations with a POS Integration, these tasks are recommended after the POS is installed.

  • Add the Location to R365 Overtime Rules and other Labor Rules

  • Review the To Do Checklist and Map GL Accounts for Payment Types

  • Review the To Do Checklist and Map GL Accounts for Sales Accounts

  • Review the To Do Checklist and Map GL Accounts for Jobs

  • Merge Employee Records for Employees who work at multiple Locations

  • Review Job Records and configure them as needed for Scheduling

  • If enabled, review the POS Mapping Tool and update POS Accounts and Rules

  • If enabled, request Schedule Writeback for the new POS and check Schedule Writeback configurations.

Schedule Writeback is not available for all POS systems.

  • If polling is being moved from an existing Location to this new Location, set the previous Location's POS Import Type to None.

If the previous Location's POS Import Type is not updated, both Locations will poll and create duplicate Daily Sales Summary records.

  • If enabled, request Intraday Polling

Intraday Polling is not available for all POS systems.

To troubleshoot any issues encountered when completing the checklist, please open a support ticket.

FAQ

What happens if I don't set the previous Location's POS Import Type to None?

If you move polling to a new Location and leave the old Location's POS Import Type unchanged, both Locations poll and create duplicate Daily Sales Summary records. Set the previous Location's POS Import Type to None in its POS Integration Settings.

Do I need to complete both checklists for every new Location?

No. Complete the Adding New Location Tasks for every new Location. Complete the POS-Integrated Location Tasks only for Locations that will integrate with a POS. Start by creating the Location.

What else do I need to do if I choose R365 Overtime Rules?

R365 recommends setting Overtime Tracking to R365 Overtime Rules. If you do, add the Location to an Overtime Rule Group on the Overtime Rules page.

How does setup differ for an existing Concept versus a new Concept?

For an existing Concept, create new Inventory Templates or copy an existing template. For a new Concept, create any missing Purchased Item records, map Vendor Items for invoicing, and create a new inventory count template.

How do I request Vendor Integrations for the new Location?

Submit a support ticket for the new Location, and submit a separate ticket for each Vendor so each one resolves efficiently. Set up the Location's Bank Accounts as part of the same checklist.
