Create and Manage Prep Templates

Prev Next

Prep templates are reusable groupings of prep recipes that define which recipes appear on a prep sheet and how they are organized. Recipes on a template can be activated or deactivated together, making it efficient to turn entire workflows on or off based on operational needs, such as seasonal recipes or other limited-time offerings.

One or more prep templates must be selected when a prep sheet is created. Each template contributes its set of prep recipes to the prep sheet, making it easy to combine or swap templates as operational needs change. Prep templates are created and managed from the Prep Templates tab in Prep Settings. Prep templates are only available to the locations that they have been assigned to. The recipes on the template are available based on location access.

Prep templates are managed from the Prep Settings screen.

Create a Prep Template

To create a prep template, follow these steps:

Click steps to expand for additional information and images.

1) Click Add Template.

This opens the template wizard, which is divided into three sections: General Info, Add Recipes, and Review Template.

2) Complete the General Info section.

Enter a name, assign locations, and add an optional description.

Read more about the fields in the General Info section.

3) Complete the Add Recipes section by selecting recipes, and then clicking Add [#] Recipes.

Read more about the Add Recipes section.

4) In the Review Template section, confirm the template name and selected recipes, decide whether the template should be available as soon as it is saved, and then click Save.

Turn on the Visible to stores toggle to publish this template so it is visible to stores once saved. Leave the toggle off to keep the template hidden from stores until you are ready. This can be changed at any time from the Prep Templates tab of Prep Settings.

Once saved, the template will appear in the prep templates list.

Activate/Deactivate Prep Templates

Each prep recipe added to a template has its own Available for Use toggle, which controls whether that specific recipe is active on the template — independent of whether the template itself is visible to stores. Templates can be activated or deactivated individually or in bulk.
