This is a part of Till Management and covers variance thresholds.

Till Management Settings can be updated at any point from the Till Management page. These settings help to distinguish allowable over/short variances for tills, deposits, and daily deposits. Admin Users will have the option to configure variances by dollars or percentages.

Users with the following Permission will be able to configure Till Management Settings:

Sales & Cash → Cash Management → Configure Thresholds

Till Management is only available for databases that utilize select POS Systems. To view the list of qualifying POS Systems, click here.


Settings

To open these settings, click the gear icon in the top, right corner of the Till Management page.

1) Till Variance - The allowable over/short dollar or percentage amount variance for each till

2) Deposit Variance - The allowable over/short dollar or percentage amount variance for each deposit

3) Daily Deposit Variance - The allowable over/short dollar or percentage amount variance for all daily deposits

4) Cancel - This will cancel any changes made

5) Apply - This will apply all changes made

Default values include:

  • Till Variance = $5

  • Deposit Variance = $5

  • Daily Deposit Variance = $10


Variance Signifiers

The over/short variance will be calculated based on the difference between the actual and expected dollar amounts. These amounts will be displayed in one of two colors to draw attention to their over/short variances: 

  • Blue - Variances within the set threshold 

  • Red - Variances outside of the set threshold
