E-Verify lets a client electronically confirm a new hire's employment eligibility. R365 Hire (powered by CareerPlug) integrates with E-Verify so eligibility checks can start directly from a new hire's record.
What the integration requires
E-Verify integration with R365 Hire requires an E-Verify Web Services account, not a standard E-Verify account. Web Services accounts support the direct system connection R365 Hire needs; standard accounts don't. Setting up a Web Services account with the Department of Homeland Security typically takes four to six weeks, so start this process as soon as you begin setting up R365 Hire.

E-Verify is a one-to-one integration: one E-Verify account connects to one R365 Hire instance. Some clients have multiple E-Verify entities — for example, separate legal entities that each have their own E-Verify account. These clients can't connect more than one account to a single R365 Hire instance.
Setup process
Set up an E-Verify Web Services account with the Department of Homeland Security (allow four to six weeks).
Contact R365 Support with your Web Services account details: your Employer Account Company ID, E-Verify Program Administrator User ID, and E-Verify company name. Don't include your password in this message — R365 Support will follow up separately if any additional credential is needed.
No action needed from you. R365 Support and CareerPlug complete the integration on the R365 Hire side.
Once connected, run employment eligibility verification for each new hire from their R365 Hire record.
Common setup errors
Issue | Cause |
|---|---|
Account won't connect | The client set up a standard E-Verify account instead of a Web Services account. |
Login or credential errors | The client entered E-Verify credentials incorrectly in the R365 Hire integration form. |
Verification doesn't trigger | The integration wasn't completed correctly on the CareerPlug side. |
If a client reports one of these issues, confirm the account type first — it's the most common cause of E-Verify setup failures.

FAQ
What information do I need to give R365 Support to start the integration?
Your Employer Account Company ID, E-Verify Program Administrator User ID, and E-Verify company name.
Can one E-Verify account cover multiple legal entities?
No. E-Verify integrates one-to-one with a single R365 Hire instance. Multi-entity clients need to choose one account to connect, or manage the others' verification outside the integration.
Which states require E-Verify?
Requirements vary by state and, in some cases, by employer size or industry. Check current state requirements before assuming E-Verify is optional for a given client.
