The Documents Splitter dialog is a full screen view where a user selects one or more pages of a multipage document and splits them into a new document with an editable file name. It opens from either the Documents to Process grid toolbar or the Draft Transaction screen's Actions menu, and behaves the same way regardless of which path was used to reach it.
Navigation
The Documents Splitter dialog has no navigation path of its own. It opens only as a result of an action taken elsewhere:

From the Draft Transaction screen's Actions menu Split document item

Documents Splitter Dialog Buttons and Fields

Button/Field | Description | |
|---|---|---|
1 | Zoom out | Decreases the document preview's zoom level by 10% per click. No minimum zoom level is enforced. |
2 | Zoom percentage indicator | Displays the document preview's current zoom level as a rounded percentage. Read-only. |
3 | Zoom in | Increases the document preview's zoom level by 10% per click. No maximum zoom level is enforced. |
4 | Fullscreen toggle | Switches the dialog between full screen and windowed presentation. |
5 | Close | Closes the dialog without saving. Any page selection in progress is discarded. |
6 | Document page previewer | Displays the document's pages so pages can be selected for the split. Selecting a page toggles it in or out of the split; selected pages move into the new document. Shows a loading state while the preview loads or a split is submitting. If the document fails to load, the message "Error loading the document, please close the dialog and try again." appears instead. |
7 | New File Name | Text field pre-filled with the original document's file name. Edits become the file name of the new split document. No character limit, format restriction, or required-field validation applies beyond the pre-fill. |
8 | Split Pages | Submits the split for the selected pages and file name. Disabled until at least one page is selected. On success, the Documents to Process grid refreshes and the dialog closes. On failure, an error message appears and the dialog stays open so the split can be retried. |
FAQ
Does it matter whether I open the Documents Splitter dialog from Documents to Process or from the Draft Transaction screen?
No. The dialog behaves exactly the same way regardless of which entry point you use — the Split action on the Documents to Process grid or the Split document item on the Draft Transaction screen's Actions menu.
What happens if I leave the New File Name field blank?
The field is pre-filled with the original document's file name, so it's not blank by default. What happens if you clear it and submit anyway isn't confirmed — no required-field validation is documented for this field. [LINK NEEDED: confirm blank/duplicate filename behavior with SMEs.]
