A group labor matrix applies a shared labor matrix configuration to one or more locations. Adding a location to a group means that location adopts the group's labor matrix configuration instead of its individual single-location labor matrix. Removing a location from a group reverts it to its single-location labor matrix configuration.
This article covers adding and removing locations from a group labor matrix. The procedure starts on the Labor Matrix page in Admin.
This feature is in beta for select customers. Contact your CSM for more information.
Security
The following permission is required to manage locations in a group labor matrix:
Sales and Cash → Forecasts → Labor Matrix Setup → View and Edit Multi-Location Setup
These permissions can be added to custom user roles or individual users. The Permission Access report can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. For more information, see User Setup and Security.
Manage Locations in a Group Labor Matrix
Navigate to the Labor Matrix page.
Admin → Workforce → Labor Matrix
Select the Group tab.
Click the row of the group labor matrix to open it.
Check the effective date of the current version:
If the effective date is set to a future date, proceed to step 5.
If the effective date is set to a past date, click Add Version. A new editable version is created. Proceed to step 5.
In the Group Name and Locations section, click the Locations field to open the location dropdown.
Check or uncheck the checkbox next to each location to assign or remove it:
Checked — the location is assigned to the group.
Unchecked — the location is not assigned to the group.
When a location is assigned to the group, it uses the group's labor matrix configuration. When a location is removed, it uses its individual single-location labor matrix configuration.
Only locations with the same first day of the week on their fiscal calendar can be grouped together. Locations with a different week start are not available for selection.
Adding a location that currently belongs to another group causes the system to automatically create a new version for that group, set to the same effective date. The new version removes the location from the previous group. Both versions take effect simultaneously on the effective date. Until the effective date, the location continues to use the configuration of the group it is currently in.
To remove locations using the controls in the Locations field:
Remove one location: The first two assigned locations display as pills inside the Locations field. Hover over a pill and click the X button to remove that location.
Remove all locations: Hover over the Locations field and click the X button on the right side of the field.
Set the effective date to a date in the future.
Click Save.
After the version is saved, any location assigned to the group has a read-only single-location labor matrix for the duration of the group assignment.
