Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a vendor not appearing on the 1099 Review report?

A vendor must meet all of the following criteria to appear on the 1099 Review report:

  • The Vendor Record must have at least one active 1099 form configured on the 1099 tab.

  • The vendor must be associated with the legal entity selected in the report parameters.

  • The vendor must have at least one AP invoice, AP credit memo, or bank expense with a Payment Apply Date within the selected year and a 1099 amount greater than $0.

  • The 1099 Form selected in the report parameters must match the form type assigned to the vendor's transactions.

For more information on configuring 1099 settings on a vendor, see 1099 Setup and Management Overview.

The 1099 flag was enabled on a vendor after invoices were already entered — why are those transactions not appearing?

Enabling the 1099 flag on a vendor record does not retroactively update existing transactions. The 1099 Amount, 1099 Form, and 1099 Box fields only appear on transactions created after the flag is set. Transactions entered before the flag was enabled will not have 1099 amounts and will not appear on the report.

To add 1099 information to existing transactions, see Update 1099 Transactions.

How do I add 1099 history for a vendor that was paid in a previous system before going live in R365?

1099 payment history from a previous system can be entered in R365 using beginning balance AP invoices and payments. This ensures prior-year totals are included in 1099 reporting. See Add 1099 Historical Data to a Vendor for steps.
