Revenue Center Split

Prev Next

Revenue Center Split enables businesses with distinct service areas — such as bars, dining rooms, or patios— to treat each area as a separate location in R365. This allows for more accurate reporting and improved sales tracking by isolating data by service area.

When enabled, R365 imports and processes sales data based on Revenue Center settings defined during configuration. Each selected Revenue Center is treated as its own reporting location within the system.

During polling, the system references the list of Revenue Centers configured to import. If a Revenue Center is not included in this list, its data is excluded from import.

This feature is designed to support any POS that includes Revenue center data in its files and is only available for Sales revenue splits.

Enable Revenue Center Split

To prepare for Revenue Center Split enablement, complete the following tasks:

1) Review POS Revenue Centers

Sales data is split according to the Revenue Centers established in the POS.

  • Review POS Revenue centers and ensure clear and consistent naming conventions across the POS to prevent data import issues.

  • Determine the Revenue Centers that should be considered locations for import — not all revenue centers have to be treated as locations to enable Revenue Center Split.

2) Determine the primary location.

The primary location will receive the revenue center selected as well as all labor.

3) Review and Create Locations in R365

The locations the revenue centers will be imported to should be created prior to Revenue Center enablement.

  • Review settings for the Primary Location

    • In the location record, on the General tab, confirm the following:

      • The primary location that will receive labor and sales that are not split to revenue center is set to Location Type: Restaurant.

      • The primary location is set to POS Import Type: Sales and Labor.

  • Create R365 locations for the POS Revenue Centers to split to.

    • In the location record, on the General tab, ensure the following:

      • The location types are set to Restaurant.

      • The POS Import type for the split locations are set to Sales Only.

Do not set to Sales and Labor or labor will be duplicated.

4) Contact R365 Support to enable Revenue Center Split.

Revenue Center splits are configured during POS Integration setup. Contact R365 Support to configure Revenue Center Split.

Work with R365 Support to establish the following:

  • Effective Split Date: First date the data will be split from the parent location to the split location.

  • Location Information:

    • Parent location: Location name and number for the location the Revenue Center will be split from.

    • Split Location: Location name and location number for the location where the Split Revenue Center data will be split to.

  • Revenue Centers to be Imported as locations: The Revenue Centers from the POS that should be split to separate locations.
