When a shift governed by a Predictability rule is changed on or after the rule's advance notice deadline (and outside the grace period), R365 calculates a predictability pay penalty. For the specific formula options available per shift-change type, see Predictability Record and Configure Predictability Rules. This article covers what happens after that calculation: how the penalty is confirmed and where it ends up.
Employee Acknowledgment
A calculated penalty amount is not final until the related shift change is acknowledged. The affected employee receives an acknowledgment request in the mobile app, showing the location, job, the original and updated shift details, and who made the change. The employee responds in one of two ways:
The employee acknowledges the change as self-requested. No penalty applies.
The employee acknowledges the change as manager-initiated. The calculated penalty applies.
If the employee does not respond before the pay period closes, the change is automatically marked manager-initiated and the penalty applies.
The mobile acknowledgment screen does not display the calculated penalty dollar amount. The employee sees only the shift details and who made the change.
Where the Penalty Amount Appears
The calculated penalty amount appears in the following places:
On the Publish Check screen when the schedule is published, for both a single-shift publish and a full-schedule publish.
On the employee's timecard, as a Predictability Pay earning, once the related shift change is acknowledged. A manager can edit and approve this earning like any other timecard earning.
On the Predictability Acknowledgement Report, alongside the shift change type, response status, and notice deadline for that change.
In the Daily Sales Summary labor section, under the employee's name, once acknowledged.
The calculated penalty amount does not currently flow to payroll export.
