Prep configurations define the default settings that control how prep sheets calculate and display prep quantities for assigned locations. Managing these configurations ensures that each location follows the same default calculation rules and display options unless a different option is selected on an individual prep sheet. Prep configurations can be edited at any time to change default settings on prep sheets.

Click steps to expand for additional information and images.
1) From the Prep Configurations list, click a line item to open the configuration.

2) Edit the name and location section.
In this section, name the configuration and select the location(s) that these settings will apply to.
This section on the Default Configuration cannot be edited.
The location(s) available for selection are determined by the user’s location access.

3) Select available estimated usage calculations. The selections here determine which estimated usage calculation options are available to apply to prep sheets.
Estimated usage determines how suggested prep quantities are calculated. When working with a prep sheet, the estimated usage method can be changed to any of the available options, which will apply to all recipes on that sheet.
In the configuration settings, one or more estimated usage options can be enabled. Available options include:
4 Weeks – Uses historical menu item data from the past four weeks.
6 Weeks – Uses historical menu item data from the past six weeks.
Forecasted Sales – Uses projection dates and forecasted sales to calculate estimated usage.
Read more about how estimated usage for prep is calculated.
The option marked as default will be the automatic calculation if it goes unchanged on a prep sheet.

4) Set the rounding options. Like the estimated usage, the options selected here will be available for selection on prep sheets. These determine how prep quantity calculations will be rounded.
The rounding options selected here will appear as options when running a prep sheet. If no additional rounding options are selected, all prep sheet quantities will generate as per the default selection.

5) Save the configuration.
This will save all changes made to the configuration. Once saved, the selections will apply as default settings to all prep sheets going forward.
