Device Widgets Overview

Prev Next

Device widgets are native iOS and Android home screen elements that display R365 data at a glance, without opening the R365 app. Device widgets only display data accessible to the user logged in to the R365 app. No additional configuration in R365 is required.

The following device widgets are available, showing a snapshot of R365 data and opening the corresponding screen in the R365 app when tapped:

  • My next shifts

  • Weekly schedule overview

  • Daily sales summary

  • WTD sales

  • My tasks

Device widgets are added through the standard widget gallery on iOS and Android. Learn more about adding a device widget to your home screen.

Device Widgets and Dashboard Widgets

The R365 app dashboard displays widgets inside the app itself, accessible from the 'Dashboard' screen after opening R365. Device widgets appear on the phone's home screen and provide a data snapshot without opening the app. The two widget types are separate, and changes to the in-app dashboard do not affect device widgets.

How Device Widget Data Refreshes

Device widget data syncs with R365 automatically. The refresh schedule is controlled by the device's operating system (iOS or Android) and runs approximately every 30 minutes, depending on OS settings and battery constraints.

Certain events also trigger an immediate refresh, including opening the R365 app, logging in or out, and schedule changes.

A user must be logged in to the app to populate device widget data. If no user is logged in to the device app, widgets will display an alert and provide a direct link to log in.

Several conditions can reduce how often a device widget refreshes:

  • Battery saver mode — Both iOS and Android may throttle background refresh when battery saver or low-power mode is active. Disabling battery saver mode restores the standard refresh schedule.

  • No internet connection — An active internet connection is required for the widget to sync with R365. Confirm the device has connectivity.

  • App not recently opened — Opening the R365 app triggers an immediate widget refresh. If the widget data appears stale, open the app to force a refresh.
