# System Preferences: Legal Entities & Bank Verification

The Legal Entities & Bank Verification tab displays the verification statuses of all legal entities and bank accounts for organizations using the R365 Payments Service. Verification is required before financial services can be provided to ensure compliance with banking regulations.

> Verification statuses are shown for every legal entity and bank account including those not actively used with [R365 Payments Service](/doc/docs/r365-payments-service).

## Security

Users must have the following permissions to access the Legal Entities & Bank Verification tab:

- Banking → Bank Accounts → View Bank Accounts
- Administration → Legal Entities → View Legal Entities
- Administration → System Setup → System Preferences → View/Edit Payments Contact

These permissions can be added to [custom user roles](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/custom-user-roles) or [individual users](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/users-overview-and-security). The [Permission Access report](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/generating-a-permissions-access-report) can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. ## Navigation

## Legal Entities & Bank Verification Buttons & Fields

|  | Button/Field | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **1** | Legal Entity | Legal entity name and Tax ID. Click to open the [legal entity record](/doc/docs/legal-entity-record). |
| **2** | Legal Entity Verification Status | Displays the verification status for the legal entity as either: - **Verified:** The legal entity has been verified for payments. - **Not Verified:** The legal entity has not been verified for payments. |
| **3** | Bank Accounts Section | Displays all [bank accounts](/doc/docs/bank-account-record) associated with the legal entity. |
| **4** | Expand/Collapse | Expands or collapses the bank accounts section. |
| **5** | Bank Account | Displays the following information for the bank account: - GL account Name - GL Account Number - Account Type - Bank Name - Last Four Digits of the Bank Account Number If any optional fields are missing from the bank account record, they will be not be displayed. Click to open the [bank account record](/doc/docs/bank-account-record). |
| **6** | Bank Verification Status | Displays the verification status for the bank account as either: - **Verified:** All [required fields](/doc/docs/r365-payments-add-or-remove-a-bank-account) are verified and payments are ready to be sent. - **Not verified:** There are missing required fields for the bank account or the bank account is pending verification. |
| **7** | Add Bank Account | Opens a bank account record for creation. |

Financial account used to record specific transactions in the general ledger.
