# Set Favorite Instances for Multi-Instance Switching

When an instance is marked as a favorite, it appears at the top of the [multi-instance switcher](/doc/docs/multi-instance-switching) dropdown menu.

Instances are favorited on the [Instances screen](/doc/docs/my-instances). Favorites only apply to the user who sets them.

## Favorite or Unfavorite an Instance

Follow these steps to favorite or unfavorite an instance:

****1)** Navigate to the [**Instances screen**](/doc/docs/my-instances).**

1. Select the **multi-instance switcher** in the system header.
2. Select **Manage instances**.

****2)** In the Instance/URL column for the **desired instance**, click the **Star icon**.**

The search bar filters the instances list based on the instance/URL or the current nickname.

A **filled star** indicates the instance is a favorite. An **empty star** indicates the instance is not a favorite.

The Favorites tab lists all favorited instances.
