# Reorder Bank Rules

Reordering bank rules sets the order in which rules are applied to [bank activity](/doc/docs/bank-activity-overview).

Rules are reordered on the [Rule Vault screen](/doc/docs/rule-vault-page) and can be [reset](/doc/docs/reset-bank-rule-order) to the default order if desired.

## Security

Users must have the following permission to reorder bank rules:

- Banking → Bank Activity → Bank Rules → Edit Bank Rules

These permissions can be added to [custom user roles](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/custom-user-roles) or [individual users](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/users-overview-and-security). The [Permission Access report](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/generating-a-permissions-access-report) can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. ## Reorder Bank Rules

Follow these steps to reorder bank rules:

****1)** Navigate to the [**Bank Activity page**](/doc/docs/bank-activity-page).**

A) Open the **Accounting** application**.** B) Expand the **Banking** category. C) Select **Bank Activity**.

****2)** Click **Rule Vault.****

The [Rule Vault page](/doc/docs/rule-vault-page) will open.

****3)** Click **reorder rules.****

****4)** Use the **rearrange button** ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/5c9d1111-0c69-4e96-8910-d7f2750fdc9d/Images/Documentation/image-OZS5M9Y5.png) to **drag and drop** rules to the desired order.**

****5)** To undo the changes made, click **discard changes.** *(Optional)***

****6)** To save the changes made, click **save**.**
