# Recreate a DSS Journal Entry

When a Daily Sales Summary journal entry displays multiple line items for the same account or does not display an update made to an account, often times you will need to recreate the DSS Journal Entry.

DSS Journal Entries can be recreated individually or in mass.

## **Individually Recreate**

To do this, open the desired DSS, hover over the **Action** menu, and click **Recreate Journal Entry**. This works similarly to a page 'refresh' where it refreshes the information polled.

If the initial issue is not resolved, navigate to the 'GL account Mapping' option within the 'Action' menu to examine a break out of Sales and Payment details and then compare that to the [Daily Sales Report](/doc/docs/daily-sales-report).

## **Mass Recreate**

To mass recreate DSS Journal Entries:

1. Open the **Sales & Forecasting** app.
2. Expand the **Daily Sales Summary** section.
3. Click **Daily Sales Summary (DSS) (Classic)**.
4. **Select the checkbox** for each Daily Sales Summary that needs its journal entry recreated.
5. Click **Mass Recreate** above the list. This re-imports the journal entries for every selected Daily Sales Summary.

> **Important Note About Older Daily Sales Summaries**
> 
> Recreate Journal Entry and Mass Recreate only update Daily Sales Summaries within R365's data retention window, approximately 90 days. For a Daily Sales Summary outside that window, the underlying data has been archived and the DSS journal entry does not update.
> 
> To regenerate DSS journal entries older than the retention window, contact [R365 Support](https://help.restaurant365.net/support/home) with the specific locations and date range needed.

Financial account used to record specific transactions in the general ledger.
