# Enable Preset Allocations

[Preset allocations](/doc/docs/preset-allocations-overview-security) distribute a single transaction amount across multiple general ledger (GL) accounts based on predefined percentages. Enable Preset Allocations to make them available for use on AP Invoices and/or journal entries.

## Security

Users must have the following permission to enable Preset Allocations:

- General Ledger → Allocations → Preset Allocations → Enable Preset Allocations

These permissions can be added to [custom user roles](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/custom-user-roles) or [individual users](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/users-overview-and-security). The [Permission Access report](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/generating-a-permissions-access-report) can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. ## Enable Preset Allocations

To enable preset allocations, follow these steps:

****1)** Navigate to the **Preset allocations page.****

**A)** Open the **Admin** application. **B)** Expand the **Accounting** category. **C)** Select **Preset Allocations.**

****2)** Select **Settings.****

****3** Select the **checkbox** for the desired **transaction type.****
