# Delete a Payment from a Pay Run

Payments can be deleted from a pay run on either the [Pay Run Details](/doc/docs/workforce-pay-run-details-page) page or on the associated [Payment Details page](/doc/docs/workforce-payment-details-page).

> [!WARNING]
> Deleting the payment will remove the employee and all associated earnings and deductions from the pay run. **This action is irreversible.**

## Delete a Payment on the Pay Run Details Page

Follow these steps to delete a payment on the Pay Run Details page:

****1)** Navigate to the desired Pay Run Details page from the Payroll Hub page.**

> Payments cannot be deleted from pay runs on the History tab or from pay runs with a ‘Pending’ status.

****2)** Click the **Trashcan button** associated with the payment.**

## Delete a Payment on the Payment Details Page

Follow these steps to delete a payment on the Payment Details page:

****1)** Navigate to the desired [Pay Run Details](/doc/docs/workforce-pay-run-details-page) page from the Payroll Overview page.**

> Payments cannot be deleted from pay runs on the History tab or from pay runs with a ‘Pending’ status.

****2)** Select the **desired payment** to open the [Payment Details page](/doc/docs/workforce-payment-details-page).**

****3)** Click the **Delete** button in the payment header.**

A batch payroll cycle in R365 that calculates and distributes employee payments for a specific pay period. A pay run moves through three phases — preparation (importing earnings from the DSS and adding adjustments), calculation and approval, and paycheck distribution — and generates associated payroll and funding journal entries. Approving a pay run is irreversible.
