These rules help ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal pay policies by automatically applying penalty earnings when required conditions are met. Use split rules to: - Apply penalty pay for split shifts worked in the same day. - Apply penalty pay when required rest periods between closing and opening shifts are not met. Split rules apply to configured locations and calculate penalties during payroll processing. --- ## Security Users must have the following permission to access the Split Rules record: - Labor → Labor Rules → Split Rules → View Split Rules These permissions can be added to [custom user roles](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/custom-user-roles) or [individual users](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/users-overview-and-security).
