Setting up POS Menu Item Modifier Management

Setup process overview

To request POS Menu Item Modifier Management, submit a support request to R365 Support, or work with your Operations Coach/CSM. Once the request is received, R365 Support provides a worksheet of POS sales categories and POS modifier groups. After completing the worksheet, work with R365 Support to review the worksheet. R365 Support will use this information to complete configuration.


Configuring POS Menu Item Modifier Management by location

POS Menu Item Modifier Management can be configured by location, allowing for different concepts or regions to define their POS Menu Item Modifier Management separately. 

To configure the POS Menu Item Modifier Management by location, inform R365 Support that you need multiple worksheets, and provide a list of which locations share the same configurations. R365 Support will then provide a worksheet for each group of locations that will have the same configurations.


Step 1: Requesting the worksheet

The first step to configuring POS Menu Item Modifier Management involves reaching out to the R365 Support to request the POS Menu Item Modifier Management setup worksheet. This worksheet is unique to the needs of your organization and contains a list of POS sales categories and POS Modifier Groups.

Be sure to notify the Support team if you are configuring by location. Multiple worksheets will be needed. For more information see the above section, Configuring POS Menu Item Modifier Management by location.


Step 2: Completing the worksheet

After receiving the worksheet(s) from R365 Support, complete the worksheet by filling in the empty columns.

Some columns in the worksheet are already completed. Do not edit the information in these cells.

Column

Description

Id

Identification number for the line to be uploaded.

  • DO NOT EDIT! This column must be imported with the exact IDs present on the worksheet. 

CategoryName

Name of the POS Sales Category.

  • DO NOT EDIT! This column must be imported with the exact POS Sales Category names present on the worksheet.

CategoryId

Identification number for the POS Sales Category.

  • DO NOT EDIT! This column must be imported with the exact POS Sales Category IDs present on the worksheet.

IsFullConcatenation

Indicates if the ‘Join All Button Presses’ POS Menu Item Modifier Management Type should be applied to items in the associated POS Sales Category. 

The corresponding cell in column J must be set to True. If both D and J are True, this setting concatenates all modifiers from the parent category.

ConcatenateBySize

Indicates if the ‘Add Size Modifier’ POS Menu Item Modifier Management Type should be applied to items in the associated POS Sales Category.

The corresponding cell in column I must be set to True. If both E and I are True, this setting concatenates all size modifiers.

ConcatenatePriceOnly

Indicates if the ‘Price Modifiers Only’ POS Menu Item Modifier Management Type should be applied to items in the associated POS Sales Category.

The corresponding cell in column J must be set to True. If both F and J are True, this setting concatenates all modifiers that have a price associated.

ModifierGroupName

Name of the POS Modifier Category.

  • DO NOT EDIT! This column must be imported with the exact POS Modifier Category names present on the worksheet.

ModifierGroupId

Identification number for the POS Modifier Category.

  • DO NOT EDIT! This column must be imported with the exact POS Modifier Category names present on the worksheet.

IsSize

Indicates that the associated POS Modifier Category contains ‘Size’ modifiers. Only modifiers associated with POS Modifier Categories marked as ‘True’ will be used for the ‘Add Size Modifier’ POS Menu Item Modifier Management Type. Mark ‘True’ on any modifier groups that are sizes.

IsConcatenated

Indicates if modifiers in the associated POS Modifier Category will be concatenated with the parent Menu Item. Only POS Modifier Categories marked as ‘True’ will be concatenated. Mark ‘True’ on any modifier groups that you'd like concatenated to the parent item.

LocationId

Identification number for the location associated with the Modifier Group.

  • DO NOT EDIT! This column must be imported with the exact Locations IDs present on the worksheet.


Step 3: Reviewing the worksheet

Contact R365 Support to inform them that the worksheet is completed and ready for configuration. R365 will review the worksheet, ensure all necessary cells are filled out, and complete the final configurations necessary to get POS Menu Item Modifier Management working for you! Menu Items populate in R365 upon the next sync with the POS.
