This article covers deleting the following labor rules: [Overtime](/doc/docs/overtime-rules-record), [Break](/doc/docs/break-rules-record), [Split](/doc/docs/split-rules-record), [Minor](/doc/docs/minor-rules-record), [Tip Makeup Rules](/doc/docs/tip-makeup-rules-record), [Spread of Hours](/doc/docs/spread-of-hours-record), [Predictability](/doc/docs/predictability-record), [Reporting Time Pay](/doc/docs/reporting-time-pay-record), and [Shift Differential](/doc/docs/shift-differential-record) When a labor rule is deleted, locations assigned to that rule are not automatically reassigned to another rule. The labor rule's configurations no longer apply to actual and scheduled labor for those locations. Changes to labor rule configurations take effect going forward. > [Pay Period rules](/doc/docs/pay-periods-record) cannot be deleted. --- ## Security **Each labor rule type has a delete permission dedicated permission under Labor → Labor Rules.** | Rule | Permission | | --- | --- | | Overtime | Labor → Labor Rules → Overtime Rules → Delete Overtime Rules | | Break | Labor → Labor Rules → Break Rules → Delete Break Rules | | Minor | Labor → Labor Rules → Minor Rules → Delete Minor Rules | | Split | Labor → Labor Rules → Split Rules → Delete Split Rules | | Spread of Hours | Labor → Labor Rules → Spread of Hours Rules → Delete Spread of Hours Rules | | Predictability | Labor → Labor Rules → Predictability Rules → Delete Predictability Rules | | Reporting Time | Labor → Labor Rules → Reporting Time Rules → Delete Reporting Time Rules | | Shift Differential | Labor → Labor Rules → Shift Differential Rules → Delete Shift Differential Rules | | Tip Makeup | Labor → Labor Rules → Tip Makeup Rules →Delete Tip Makeup Rules | These permissions can be added to [custom user roles](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/custom-user-roles) or [individual users](https://restaurant365.us.document360.io/doc/docs/users-overview-and-security).
